Note d'application: Porfiria cutánea autosómica recesiva debida a deficiencia de UROPORFIRINÓGENO DECARBOXILASA en el HÍGADO y en la MÉDULA ÓSEA. De forma análoga a la PORFIRIA CUTÁNEA TARDA, esta enfermedad es causada por deficiencia de la quinta enzima de la vía biosintética de 8 enzimas del HEMO pero se trata de una deficiencia homocigótica en la que hay menos del 10 por ciento de la actividad enzimática normal. Las lesiones cutáneas son graves y mutilantes.

Note d'application: An autosomal recessive cutaneous porphyria that is due to a deficiency of UROPORPHYRINOGEN DECARBOXYLASE in both the LIVER and the BONE MARROW. Similar to PORPHYRIA CUTANEA TARDA, this disorder is caused by defects in the fifth enzyme in the 8-enzyme biosynthetic pathway of HEME, but is a homozygous enzyme deficiency with less than 10% of the normal enzyme activity. Cutaneous lesions are severe and mutilating.
